Installation Art

I work on large LED art installations, specializing in the custom electronics, software patterns, and experience design.

I’ve done literal miles of electrical wiring; used AI to debug streaming data issues; and accidentally learned a whole lot about trucking logistics across the North American continent.

Seeing Sound

All pieces are sound reactive, and propagate animations across large distances at the speed of sound. The beat washes over you as the pattern does, producing a synesthetic effect, of “seeing sound.”

Why Installation Art?

The cost of working on exciting projects throughout your career is that you’re often surrounded by brilliant people who’ve already climbed the ladder. While I've enjoyed Lead roles in my professional life, I've been left in long tenure-based lines, hungry for advancement. Instead of waiting for leadership or engineering opportunities rarely given to “people like me,” I decided to take on creative challenges with small teams and, eventually, build my own teams.

Installation Art has given me the opportunity to get leadership experience with highly diverse teams, big budgets, and absurd logistical challenges. It’s worth noting that these are genuinely diverse teams — class, age, neurotype, gender, health status, race. Finding ways to help people grow and collaborate has been a fascinating puzzle.

I genuinely enjoy learning about people, and finding ways motivate unlikely teams beyond monetary incentives or basic affinity groups.
